Professional Bio
Cory Brooks, CMP is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Regis University. Her experience ranges from years in creative sales and marketing positions to Vice President of Sales and then owning her own company. In 2016, she earned her CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) credential. Then in 2017, Cory took over the helm of Specialty Planners International as Managing Partner. Fast forward to late 2022, Cory embarked on starting up a new Destination Management Company, Connect Event Group, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Continuing education and broadening her horizons lead to the natural progression of her earning the DMCP certification (Destination Management Certified Professional) in 2024. Cory has been planning events and exceptional experiences for many years and still gets very excited to work with clients to help curate their vision into a memorable expression of their company’s values and goals.
Cory also shares her time and talents serving for Meeting Professionals International and their global committees, the Anti-Human Trafficking Committee, RISE Award Committee and Small Business Owners Council. She previously served on the board of the MPI Tennessee Chapter for eight years. Other organizations Cory has served in leadership roles or is involved with are Rotary, American Cancer Society Chattanooga, Habitat for Humanity and several local industry associations such as Tennessee Business Travel Association and Tennessee Society of Association Executives, Leadership Chattanooga Alumni Association, plus Nashville and Chattanooga area Chambers of Commerce. When it is time to relax Cory loves going to the lake or hiking with her husband and enjoying her family on fun vacation excursions.
